55 for 2 - a story of gili

after a while and not posting......the current news is...i'm married...
yeayyy...hihi
and this is a story of our honeymoon trip to Gili Trawangan, Lombok.

what's '55 for 2' means...?
well we decided to get our self a backpack for this trip and for more trip in the future...
and 55 is the amount liter our baggage can carry...

as i once quoted in my travel to the Philippines,
"happiness is real when shared" - from the movie 'into the wild'
i'm very well happy that i can share it with my husband.

you can tell a person when traveling with them,
and I'm more sure i have found my partner for we are filling each other not just each other company, but also how he complete me on how i do my packing, and by the whole trip we moving around for one hotel to another, he was doing all the packing...big big heart for my husband!!!
And you know what, my interest in documenting every little thing on traveling, he does it too...

so yes,
our trip may not be grand and luxury, but it was simply perfect for us...

Day 1
Night flight Jakarta - Bali;
Stayed in at Harmony Hotel (http://theharmonybali.com/) Rp. 350.000

Day 2
7.00am check out from the Hotel.
8.00am headed to fisherman island Serangan lagoon (20 minutes on road from Sanur or Kuta area).

11.00am arrived in Gili Trawangan
12.00pm check-in Villa Ombak (http://www.hotelombak.com/)

Day 3
10.30-14.00 Snorkeling Tour (you'll find it all over the island) Rp.75.000 (extra 15000 for fins)
*Rent a bike all day Rp.40.000

Day 5
10.00am check out
11.00am Departure from Gili
13.00pm Arrive in Padang Bai, Bali.
*We look for the tickets to go back to Bali just a day before, so instead Ocean Star, we got a ticket from Sea Marlin Cruiser.
Do find the speedboats that will arrived back in Serangan lagoon, not in Padang Bai. It'll take 2 hours just to get to Kuta. Yikeeees.

During this trip, we found out so many good deals for Accomodation.

Before we planned everything for our honeymoon, we had the intention on getting the honeymoon package from weddingku.com,
but then we figure we wanted to save up some money to try other hotels in Bali.
And with all the time consuming of browsing through the Internet, we took the deal of Villa Ombak's Amazing Industry Package (check out their website), and with pulling out some strings of a member family that work in the Airlines, we were able to get that package.
With the price of $150, we got 2 nights of Deluxe lumbung hut. (actual price $120 / per night) and with free pick up cidomo & bike rentals.

and for booking hotels in Bali, we tried booking.com..
we were a bit crazy for we didn't booked any hotels in bali when we left Jakarta.
We called Losari hotel in the morning we arrived from Gili, and the hotel said it was fully booked. So we book it through booking.com and got 2 nights of superior room for Rp.900.000 (actual price in the hotel Rp.580.000 / per night). And as we check in, we turns out didn't get the superior room, we got better...the deluxe room...hihi...

so yes, don't forget to check out other options... and planned it well when you only have a short period of time.
